  • All good signings. Finger may be a little on the expensive side, but good defensemen cost big bucks.

  • Hopefully, but not too good. 1 more good draft will do wonders for this organization.

  • there goaltenting sucks they need to inprove big time

  • All Fletcher lost for Grabovski and Schenn (who are young and arguably the Leafs' best forward and defenseman) was two 2nd round picks, a 3rd round pick and a marlies defenseman. Although keeping a 2nd and 3rd and drafting Filatov wouldn't be a bad thing, Schenn's looking pretty good right now. The fact that Fletcher had such a good draft that year makes up for the picks he traded away too.

  • what first rounder if your talking about the first rounder given to the islanders to move up and get schenn then that doesnt really count cuz we got their higher first round pick in return

  • In his short time with the Leafs, Fletcher trades away 8 draft picks on a team that's supposed to be rebuilding (Draft Shmaft Part II), gives up a defenceman of the future (Coliacovo) for a waste of space called Stempniak, In short, he put the Leafs further in the hole. I don't envy Brian Burke's position.

I'm glad he got Schenn and Grabovski, but the price was high - 5 draft picks (including a first rounder) in all. If that's the price, fine but don't trade more picks for Mayers, Hollwig, etc.

  • 7 yeas before we challenge for a cup ? 7 YEARS??? no way man if tings keep going the way they are I could see a contender in 2-3 now we would need some help like a top 5 pick this year which I think we'll get but it can be done.

  • i give leafs 2-3 years to make trades/sign freeagents and maybe close to 7 years before they challenge for the stanley cup. hopefully sooner... GO LEAFS GO!

  • look at their pickups and coaching staff

    all from the west

look at their player development and management staff scouts added

    all from the west

    hint

  • Finger Frogren Van Ryn are sound defensively

Hagman Mayers are smart defensive players

Cujo is going to help Toskala grow into an elite goalie

Hollweg is going to bring the old tucker impact, stick up for your team

Drafted well got Schenn, Hayes and

    Stefanovich (stole him 90th overall)

I'm not going over the limit

the Leafs will be the Anaheim Ducks of the East in 2010/2011

  • the leafs are going to be top 3 defensive team by 2011

you obviously don't watch hockey because if you did you would realize who the brains behind all these trades are

    Brian Burke

    2009/2010 Leafs VP/GM

The Leafs will have a bad season this year but they will get a top 3 pick and come out storming in 2010

watch for Nikolai Kulemin and Mikhail Grabovski this year

  • None of these players are going to make an impact. The leafs will still suck and it might be worse than lasy year.Fletcher signed a bunch on no name players. What else do you expect from this crappy organization who dont want to build a winner.
