  • good video qualtate

  • I think the Canadian is Wang Eugene. He is currenty rank 144 on ITTF world ranking. After beating Chen, his rank went up from 181 to 104, and been staying in top 150 since. He is clearly a good player.

  • lmao wang zhen.....

on 3:30 starts Chen... Just look refs...

  • honestly... I got no clue how this "america point system" works. But comparing the top of the world (on ittf ranking) with the top players on the american rating is useless.

Also, Chen was getting bad calls from the refs the whole match blocking his entire rhythm.

Im not saying pro-players should have an invincble status in America, but if I was treated this way I would think twice to come and play in America again thats for sure.

Chen > any American player on none US soil.

  • @Beeray11 Well to be honest Professional players in the US rating system are often given a 2700 base rating because their actual rating is quite often too high for the system. When Yi Yong Fan was #1 in the U.S. a few years back he would play several games and gain 0 points, but in the ITTF system that doesn't happen. Ma Long was once 3000 even after losing to a 2500 rated player (Wang Liqin).

You have to understand that the U.S. rating system is so much lower than ITTF standards.

  • @LookB3hindU

Most if not all 2500+ coaches were once playing at a decent level.

Coming to America, there is no point for them to continue competing in our tiny American tournaments. They make money coaching. The more you coach, the less advanced touch you keep.

Yeah, Chinese style training is the best. Our country has already made "ping pong" the game here. It's a board game compared to real TT lol

  • @Care4URchameleon Actually the only way we'll reach that level of play is if we start up 24/7 schools and train the Chinese way. We bring too many European players here to coach us which is where all the different styles originated.

In reality our biggest flaw is our players from Europe. Only when we start playing like the Chinese and as dedicated as they are will we succeed in gaining 2700 + Players. I mean look at our current 2700 players; they're immigrants or foreigners.

  • @Care4URchameleon A 2700 player can beat a 2800 player that is warmed up. You're forgetting about the different styles out there. For instance look at Korea Joo Se Hyuk and Ryu Seung Min or Oh Seung Eun. They lose to Joo because he's a very good defensive player, but they beat everyone else because of how good their offense is.

While the U.S. does have different styles that's not always bad. We just need more positive clubs to promote the sport.

  • @haydonlee93 Only in the U.S. Most U.S. players in the ITTF standards are around 17-1800. China and European professionals are all in the 2000+ range. Chen being from Europe and China :D

Yeah this game was bogus. In my opinion the umpire shouldn't have that kind of power. It's so obvious on tape (check the Serena williams and Chen vid on YT) that his service is legal. That guy should be fired. I think umpires should be young and not old.
