Every nigger thinks he's gonna be a producer or rapper thats why theres no boxers these days lol

@MrKilluminati248 No I'm talking boxing. What does beating young fighters when you're way passed your prime have to do with anything? Jeff Lacy got domintated when Jones was way passed his prime. Lacy had Jones up against the ropes and wasn't landing a thing. I know Mayweather, he's my current favorite boxer and obviously I've seen Toney too. They are GREAT defensive fighter, just because jones isn't a great defender doesn't mean he quote: "NO defense and coudnt take punches"
-
@blacktee31 man you are talking apeshit.IF roy jones would have good defensive skills he still would beat most of the young fighters.he is still quicker then most.watch maywather and you see good defence.Or look at JamesToney how he fights hands down in a fat bad conditioned shape vs real heavyweights.
-
@MrKilluminati248 /watch?v=UiZidHFJgRU look at 30:10-30:15 Roy was back into the ropes by Hopkins, he takes one or two shots, but he was able to block the body shots and a few shots to the head on his right and then slip out. That's defense. Defense isn't all about guarding but how slip punches as well as how you protect yourself. There is no such thing as a great fighter that can't take a punch or has no defense.
-
@MrKilluminati248 No, most boxers fight worse against the ropes. Jones wasn't completely useless against the ropes it just wasn't his forte, the same with Maywather jr. He fights best in the center of the ring, not against the ropes. Jones was still in control of alot of different fights with his back against the ropes, even against Hopkins with his back against the ropes he could still defend.
-
@blacktee31 .against the ropes he had trouble.sure you have.becouse your defence sucks and you cant run away.inside the ring you can move, use your lenght, your speed, your reflexes.Roy Jones is not a master of boxing like maywather or toney.when his speed and reflexes are gone he is nothing. His boxing game was only brutal speed and powerpunches.
How the fuck can ANYONE not love James Toney? JAMES TONEY. His craft is so old-school. The style is disappearing, boxing is in a sad state of affairs.

@koko1914 I'm a huge fan of both sports. They're incompatible in head to head comparison. But the fact that a lot of former and present boxers/trainers (Freddie Roach, Howard Davis Jr., etc.); are farming their services to MMA guys because of the inferior boxing skills of the vast majority of mixed martial artists. So, the value of boxing as a SCIENCE (not an art) can never be underestimated; as evinced in the success of Gegard Mousasi, Anderson Silva, Murillo Bustamante, Vitor Belfort, etc.
