The "frilly" panties? As he bends to pick a "dog end?" He goes down to the bog? Aqualung is later comforted by a cup of tea? And he's a "poor old sod?" I could have never guessed from this song that Ian Anderson is British. :-D
Actually, I'm a Yank who always enjoyed a lot of the English slang and expressions Anderson always used when he wrote those Jethro Tull songs back in the day. Cheers!

yes aqualung is an underwater breathing devise...and in this song refer's to an old salor who was a diver retired and starving liveing in the park's of England eyeing little girl's with bad intent...gzzz gotta spell it out to ya's? wait...this might help take two tap's of sid and trip for awhile.

I like the song a lot but what I don't understand is what does the word "aqualung" have to do with a homeless wanderer? (aqualung - a device (trade name Aqua-Lung) that lets divers breathe under water; scuba is an acronym for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus)... If someone provides an answer, I'd be most grateful.
