@askNRF Seems like you need to take a look at current research- gone are the days in which we as educators can lean on those assumptions about students, parents, and our abilities to teach. Research indicates that all students do want to learn, and that all students can learn and master subject...
Soooo tired of teachers who have go into schools with a deficit attitude. Every kid matters. Every kid can learn. The question is can every teacher teach?

Often times children are just not motivated by the materials or the individual that is presents them to them. Learning has become a stress induced experience for lots of children who are kinesthetic learners. Because some of us don't understand that there are different learning styles. Providing good differential learning materials that allow a child to move and feel relaxed helps eliminate anxiety, increases confidence and fosters spontaneous learning.

This is a great vid on differentiation, awesome music! But I'm just wondering where I can see the rest of this video. Is there more to it?

The prime assumptions that are flawed in all these "new" teaching ideas are:
1. All students want to learn.
2. All students are able to master every subject.
If these assumptions are true, the only reason we are not all brain surgeons is because our every single one of our teachers was a terrible educator.
On the other hand, maybe some people are better at some things more than others and some people aren't good at much of anything.
