  • Absolutely nothing wrong with your method, I clean my walleye just like I clean my smallmouth bass. I have several very large fillet knifes (10" and 12" blades, available at most sporting good stores for around 20 dollars) and cut from behind the head to the tail right through the ribs producing two "slabs" or sides. I then slice the ribcage off the fillet, remove the pin bones, knock the hides off and cook 'em up! When cleaning a lot of fish it goes rather quickly and hardly wastes any meat!

  • @BigRedEraser Sounds like you have a great way to clean fish! Thanks for sharing & good fishing in 2012!

  • thanks for the tip on the cheeks, I've heard of it and every time I've tried to remove them I hack them to pieces and end up throwing them out. This will sure work better

  • @MrBlizacane Glad you enjoyed the video and that we were able to help - the checks are absolutely delicious and we hope you catch plenty of walleye this year!

  • Hello, just wondering how to cook the cheeks

  • @SSMedic The easiest way - and they are delicious this way might I add - it to fry them up in some butter and garlic. No need to coat them in anything, just put them in your frying pan with butter and garlic and fry them - they are fantastic!

  • I had no idea you could eat the cheeks. Thanks for the tip!

But @nofukkinsilver76 doesn't that sound a bit too brutal for the fish? If you're going to kill it then do it fast and pain free.

  • @SereneSkyline Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking time to write to us - hope you have a great year on the water!

  • fantastic job
