Our story - Tom is an international youth speaker and professional illusionist. He also preaches at a church in Kalamazoo, MI every Sunday and had a great idea to video an illustration of Galations 6:2, Carry one anothers burdens. He expressed his intentions of showing this during his message and that he wanted me to be a part of it. He and a friend made a huge wooden cross for him to carry, and I would carry a backpack full of weights to symbolize the heavy burdens we carry. We would walk in the cold and snow for a bit, then he would take the backpack from me to illustrate the verse.

So Saturday morning, his video camera guys showed up and they went back to the woods to set up and make sure they had all the angles and everything looked good. Tom didn't want me to be cold so I got to wait inside until it was show time! Although it was freezing, it was a picture perfect winter morning with a bright sun, blue sky, and freshly fallen snow.

Everything was going smoothly on the first take, and I was happy to be making my acting debut on this video! Well little did I know... I came to the end of the trail to find a large rock topped with red candle, single rose, and a picture of him pretend proposing in New York at Tiffanys. The Frame read FAIRY TALES DO COME TRUE! Red hearts Tom cut out of construction paper were scattered around the rock in the sparkling white snow! It was a beautiful presentation, and I knew then what was really happening. Shocked and completely surprised, I began to cry! Tom has asked me at least once every week since the day we met if he can carry my burdens and how he can serve me and be Jesus to me. Tom said some other very heartfelt words, and said, "You may never get to hear Chris Harrison announce the final rose, but God decided to close the door on the chance to be on 'The Bachelor"'and have me meet you on the day taping would have started." I am so grateful for that!!! He asked If I would accept the final rose from him, and I of course said YES!!!

Tom then got down on one knee and pulled out a gorgeous diamond ring designed by Neil Lane (who designs for The Bachelor). DO YOU SENSE A THEME HERE? HAHA! He asked me to be his Queen and his Angel Forever, and asked if he could serve me and carry my burdens forever.. (sniff ), then asked Will you marry me? And I think you can guess my answer!

Tom told me I had a few more surprises in store for the day to celebrate our engagement!
