Why did it close?

So Disney Engineers can come up with things like the Soarin ride and the tower of Terror but when it comes to things like figuring out how to re-fix a water park, they're like, nah I can't touch that one, let's let it rot for 10 years and just see what happens to it

I heard it closed because of organisms growing in the water. It was lake water, not chemically treated, and the organisms were found to cause health problems that could potentially be fatal. So I've heard, anyway.
