More than 25 Years ago, four young boys, Mike Pender, John McNally, Frank Allen and Billy Adamson - it's The Searchers -- playing only live on stage one great song -- Sandman (1981 live)
Sorry for poor quality, but it is from my old VHS-Tape.
Chris Curtis -- Tony Jackson, we miss you!!
John started as rhythm guitar but took over on lead guitar from Mike in the 80's

Never heard them do this one before

Wow -- they didn't look or sound anything like the did in the 60's. For me, a Searchers without Chris Curtis as the Front Man, can never be complete. They had 3 outstanding singers. Chris was very well spoken and had the confidence to be the front man from behind the drums. We DO miss you, Chris and Tony. I don't know why John didn't do more lead singing, but he was the founding member, so he must have had something to say about the decisions.

I saw them perform neil young's "Southern Man" at the London Palladium in 1972 . They were support act to the Everly Brothers, along with Dave Loggins.

This was part of their live act in the 80's. Pity they dropped it. Went down a storm in the night clubs.

John McNally actually decided to do "Seven Nights ... " after attending a Springsteen concert in New York (I believe it was). IIRC, they met backstage after the show and discussed the song.

Great guitar work on this one !!
dbailey - 7 nights to rock is tons better done by Springsteen on the stage !!

Ya, I'm one of those folks who would like to see John take a few more lead vocals. He is doing "Seven Nights To Rock" now though.

btw., if you want to listen to a band that has three singers singing in perfect harmony and one of these guys is a super guitarist too, look for Crosby, Pevar & Raymond (CPR) here on YouTube, e.g. " It's all coming back ..."
