It must be great to be able to write music and lyrics. I think Jason does both.I can write music but I feel like it has been a 100 years trying to find a co-writer to write pop hits. I think it is good to keep your day job, and finish college, and write music. Stay away from the cat food unless you like purina cat chow..that is my favorite LOL I guess better than dog food!

Here is another approach/plan to consider: How about spending a few years developing yourself in a good paying day job, do that for 10 years earning good money. Do a job that allows freedom in the evenings, (and during the day if your lucky) to develop your music. You won't have to eat cat food, you can afford to build up a nice home studio with quality gear while your learning song writing and production techniques. When you have some quality songs down, join taxi and start your music career.

Jason Blume... Listening to him speak is like a spiritual experience, BUT THEN I MET THE AUTHOR!!!...
I wanted to sing him a verse / chorus of my song, and he was so unconcerned, unspeakably unloving human being!! He couldn't hae cared less about me as a person and dismissed me on two occasions @ the Rally...
Maybe it's because I have noting to offer him, hence, I am not a part of his ivory tower "clique" of friends...
Hopefully the thought of 11 years scares away some of the competition :-)

I understand that they're trying to promote a work ethic and it takes time but this video really is not a good example of what their trying to say, 11 1/2 years full time before making regular money and then another 5 years for decent money, investing that amount of time just plays to a law of averages, just putting in one year is too short but 11 1/2 is too long, it's more of a horror story, eating cat food? or did this guy just suck that bad to start and they're saying anybody can do it?
