My Wonderful Nokia 5800

My brother had the same problem last year and it was diagnosed as graphic chip faulty. Then the same fate happened to me after a year, and I discovered that whenever the phone is cold, the problem shows up and I have to rub it.

* Updates - Culprit found. It's due to the new firmware upgrade(stupid). Then a new firmware released solved this. But lately the symptom is back, but not so severe. Time to change phone!

cold doesnt really have anything to do with it. next time it happens hold a magnet near the top of the screen and it will come back on straight away. got the idea from another youtube vid. easier then holding a hair drier to it for 5mins

Yo. After the firmware upgrade, the problem came back and instead of using magnet, just press the top of the screen with finger, re-unlock. Screen came back. Don't need magnet! :-p

I got the same problem when I moved to UK. As here weather is bit cold but got it fixed just by updating my phone to latest firmware version. Hope this will work for you as well.

Well the problem arised again 2 3 months after the upgrade to the latest firmware. And this time the solution is, pressing the area near the earphone, lock and unlock and it will be back to normal. =.=

I had exactly the same problem and is not because of touchscreen or any hardware problem, is just SOFT :)

I upgraded to last software and now it works perfectly without any problems.

For all, we dont need the magnet.. You must download new software ( on NOKIA OVI SUITE software ) Version : 52.0.007.C02.01 and problem is out :-) Sory for my bad english :))

i had the same problem and i tried everything but i couldn't solve the problem, so i went to a nokia care shop and when i show them the problem, the man immediately knew what to do, and he immediately said that its a screen problem and it has to be changed, and they changed it in an our and from than i haven't got any problem with it...

temperature has got nothing to do with it.. i live here in the Philippines but i still had the same problem. got rid of may 5800 ages ago. im never using Nokia ever again

people theres an easier solution , download the tm piano demo its free, every time you open the app the screen appears normally , then you can exit the app without heating the mobile
