Mormon Jesus: Building the Kingdom of God (Episode 1)

In this episode, Mormon Jesus explains how his One True Church is building the Kingdom of God. WHO IS MORMON JESUS? Mormon leaders claim they are doing what Jesus wants them to do. Mormon Jesus portrays the version of Jesus that would have to exist in order to make that claim true.

Mormons are very good people and they do not believe in the kind of twisted "Mormon Jesus" that is portrayed here. Unfortunately, there is a vast disparity between the New Testament Jesus that average Mormons believe in, and the corporate "Mormon Jesus" that seems to be guiding too many of the Mormon leaders' decisions these days. This troubling disparity exists because Mormon leaders have convinced their followers that God does not want them to question, challenge, or criticize their decisions. This lack of honest self-critique and accountability--which is vital to the health and integrity of any institution--is no doubt what is currently preventing Mormon leaders from making many long-overdue changes, and keeping the automated corporate "Mormon Jesus" on life support. Are you suggesting that Mormon leaders have committed to using the profits of their real estate ventures to provide disaster relief? If so, where are you getting that? The LDS church reports on its website that it has provided one billion dollars in humanitarian aid since 1985. That's 26 million dollars per year. By contrast, LDS leaders have invested over 3.5 BILLION dollars in this mall project alone.
