Christoph Waltz under suspicion (optional subtitles)

These are a few small excerpts from the German film "Hase und Igel" (2007) of the tv series "Unter Verdacht" / "Under Suspicion". Christoph's character Thomas, a former cop, was convicted of homicide and has spent the last thirteen years in jail. His wife never visited him and she also forbade the son to see him.

Thomas claims that he is innocent of any crime. According to his version of the story he was clubbed down from behind during one of his investigations. When a young policewomen entered the scene, she was shot by his captors. But for various reasons it was Thomas who was charged with the killing. Since he was blindfolded during the crime, he could only hear the killers' voices, but he suspects that two Czechs did it against whom he had previously investigated. Thomas had stayed silent during the trial, because his then 4-year-old son had been threatened with a knife by an unknown. But after his release he tries to track down the real killers to bring the truth to light.
