The gun-control-mentality is ruthlessly absurd. It suggests that you pass a law that will deprive law-abiding citizens to weapons. We know that criminals by definition are people that do not obey laws therefore you can pass all the laws you want, they will still have access to weapons. Just as they have access to illegal drugs and other things right now. I do not beleive in arming the criminals and leaving the law-abiding citizens disarmed.

  • the pursuit of a better society is an ideological stance.

  • @cjla1987

Nice alan keyes plagiarism haha...i couldn't agree more.

  • Once again Prager shows his shallowness, like that was a secret. The gov't can enact all sorts of laws that would make things better, like if they completely banned all guns, even bullets, and jailed anyone for ten years just for having a BB the murder rate will fall. So that is good, right? Or we can jail anyone who has sex outside of marriage, that would control the VD & AIDS rate.

  • The U.S murder rate is around 3per100,000. This number comes from the FBI. Subtract all the murders that don't involve guns. This is a small price to pay for all the benefits guns give a society. One of which is less crime due to criminals scared of being shot. Another the means to defend from tyranny if need be. It seems like common sense to me. And how many of these murders are criminal on criminal? The number goes down even more. The gun grabbers try to scare you into giving up your freedom.

  • Yes I do think keeping a gun under my pillow protects freedom. History shows us this. The colonists defended themselves from tyranny, with what? Guns. That's why the founding fathers put the right in the constitution. They saw first hand that guns are necessary to keep a people free. People say "it can never happen here". Maybe not over night but over time, one freedom at a time. Hitler murdered millions of Jews after he outlawed guns. What would have happened if there was a German 2nd amendment

  • Pezlo7, i would say every thing that yankeelifer has said, but he had already said it. and our bill of rights is the longest current goverment standards to this day. not the longest surving one in the world (wich it will be eventually) but the longest standing one TODAY

  • Pezlo7:

"Well just change the amendment, it hasn't existed for very long anyway to be honest!"

You can't, if you had ANY clue about constitutional law, you'd know that the first ten amendments of the constitution are permanent and cannot be changed while the current(200+yrs old) constitution is in place. By the way, can we not just change the citizen status of all gun-grabbers, since, by your logic(-150y.o < 200y.o.) haven't been around that long anyway.
