http://www.ted.com Some of the world's most baffling social problems, says Peter Eigen, can be traced to systematic, pervasive government corruption, hand-in-glove with global companies. At TEDxBerlin, Eigen describes the thrilling counter-attack led by his organization Transparency International.

TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Closed captions and translated subtitles in a variety of languages are now available on TED.com, at http://www.ted.com/translate. • Why must I like or dislike the video? I used to give videos 2, 3, or 4 stars all the time. Maybe I thought it was just so-so?

  • Great lecture. Human morality will save us, or the lack of it, will destroy us.

  • Boring

  • People like Mr. Eigen, I believe, are the future of business; not this bulldozer like ideals of management.

  • Speaking of corruption... this dude looks like John McCain, talk about separated at birth xD

  • If it is possible to currupt many different systems of government... wouldn't it be far easier to corrupt a single system of government?

  • Theres this thing in Indonesia called the Sunset Policy, happened during the leadership of Ibu Sri Mulyani when she was the Coordinating Minister of Economy. It basically forgive those who have "made mistakes" on their tax report, so then they could report the "correct ones" without being punished. I think with some tweaks on the policy, we could solve the problem of customary corruption. If you want to arrest every corruptors in underdeveloped countries, who then would got left to run the gov?

  • QUESTION EVERYTHING!

  • i don't think it's that black and white, we won't necessarily reach a utopia or cataclysm... i think if something goes terribly wrong on a large scale, there's nothing to say humanity won't survive on a small scale.. ie not global

  • Anyone who takes the people below seriously and takes The Protocols of Zion as authentic really needs to do some research

  • Exposure is important but only the first step. It's convincing people that corruption is unacceptable and must be removed when it has already taken root.
