Video segment on the Factory, Hawaii club early 90's. It was in the old Kodak building on the corner of Kapiolani and Kamakee streets in Kakaako. Interview with Matt Grimm. Footage of Duke of Prunes w/ Warren of Tantra Monsters. Butoh stuff. Help me name the other bands in the segment... thanks!

  • Big mahalos for posting the video. By the time I got the the Factory it was on its way out.

    I'm posting it on QuadMag,

how did you get the video?

  • We made it for a show we used to do called "Junk." It was me Troy Perry, Pam Wescot-Brundel, Franchon, Sean "Speedy," Jai, Pinky Passion, Kathy with a K. The show was on Hawaii TV for a couple of years before we burned out on it. We got some killer stuff... and got to see some great shows. I'll put more like this on when I have time.

  • Do you guys have anymore of the orginal Elvis 77 lineup or Travel Light band? I stumbled across this the other day and had a good laugh! I did the "theme song" digital stuff, and formed Elvis 77 with Hank. The name "Elvis 77" actually was a nickname for the singer of SRO because he looked all bloated like Elvis in 1977, ahh, the fond memories. I am in a fantastic retro soul band called "Mo'o Soul" several links on You Tube, check it out.

    Charlie Palumbo

  • Great to hear from you Charlie! I'll check out your links

  • This is pure gold... thanks for sharing.

  • Glad you liked seeing it! I have a bunch more stuff from that time I'll put on as soon as I have time. Cheers!

  • @914hawaii

What is up Charlie how's the family?

    Henry Schneider

  • I hope I'm spelling his name right, Raj was the drummer of Duke of Prunes

  • Pretty cool video. Speaking of Duke of Prunes, I played in the '92 Rhythm Quest band competition at UH Campus Center and Duke of Prunes was there with Warren Young. I remember the drummer worked at Harry's (can't remember his name). Can't remember who won the competition, but it sure wasn't our band. I do remember one of the bands jumping up and down on their amplifiers when they found out they didn't win!

  • LoL!

  • Craig is the name that rings the bell to bring those cogs rollin. Some think it's a good name for vinyl, wonder if he's got a collection?

  • Was is Craig? Man I know Patrick Morley and Charlie Palumbo-He drummed for Momo Bones- The Dance company I co-owned with Malia-We had a Gig at The Pink Cadillac-We were doing some African dancing at that gig, But we manly did Butoh/Modern Stuff

  • I love it Shawn!! Soo Glad Momo Bones is Performing in this Segment with Stimulus!

You can't see my Face LoL! cause I'm wearing that White Mask with the frame around my face Ha Ha! But I see Malia-Where is Regurgitating Joe? He Performed with us that night too! :D
