  • These ARE Russian tortoise's!

  • @cricketmuncher911 Nope - Mojave Desert Tortoises. The bows were only on their shells for a few minutes at a time as I have a huge garden and it was easier to find them that way!

  • do they poo alot? can you keep them loose in your room? thats why im asking thanks

  • @tanatribe

No you definitely cannot keen them indoors, they will become deformed and die from lack of sunlight and they are meant to be out in the desert. The only reason I had to keep them inside for one winter was because of a shell disease but now they are back outside in their burrows year-round.

  • I love the video of Crusty and his hitchhiker! Yes they do hibernate now - a couple of years ago Poppy had a major operation on a shell problem so I had to keep them indoors and out of hibernation one winter, but they are back to normal now and snoozing in their burrows in the garden

  • is that a box turtle?

  • @srhoads02

They are Mojave Desert Tortoises...turtles swim, tortoises drown, different species!!!

  • Great idea putting bows on them while they are in the garden I've got 9 russian tortoise and they are so hard to keep track off so I'm going to do the same this summer thanks for shearing :-)

  • The bow's on their backs are pretty genius....but I wouldn't leave them on.... as their shells are constantly growing. :) They are sweet! I have 4!

  • so cute

  • I think thats a russian tortoise.

  • i tot tortoises hibernate?

  • @cheesiepeas1 My dad won't let me keep a tortoise outside, but if I can get the proper lights will my tortoise be OK inside when I get him or her?

  • nice accent

  • @cheesiepeas1 I'm no expert. However, I'm quite sure that is not true. You can safely keep them indoors year-round as long as you have a proper UV lamp and let them roam around outside in the warmer seasons.
