I worked at my local Blockbuster until it, and the rest here in Toronto, closed down this year. It was a dream job, and although it's something of an outdated already, I will always miss the culture of the Neighbourhood Video Store. People going to discuss and discover new movies, the regular customers' tastes, Staff Picks, people behind the counter who care about the product.... I look forward to telling grandkids some day about working in a store where people physically went to rent videos.
Ah, the good old days. I was a loyal customer until they brought back late fees. I went there one day and they told me I had 30 dollars in fees, and I never went back. I'm now perfectly satisfied with Netflix.
Blockbuster is definitely a big part of my childhood. My family and I used to go there on Friday nights and get movies. The had the best selection of Nintendo video games in the 80's and 90's.

I remember on Saturday nights this place was PACKED. Sad to see 95% of them gone.

"24-Hour Quick Drop Return"... Was a return slot a BlockBuster innovation?
