Britains Got Talent 2009 Finalists Stavros Flatley perform At Castle Mall Shopping Centre Norwich.
" They have entertained millions world-wide, and a dancing duo who have proved a sensation on Britain's Got Talent did not disappoint when they visited Norwich to help turn on a shopping centre's Christmas lights.
Hundreds of people lined the balcony and floor of The Mall, Norwich, tonight to get a glimpse of father-and-son dancing stars Stavros Flatley as they danced on stage along side former X-factor finalist Eoghan Quigg.
The shopping centre hosted a Christmas extravaganza for their big switch on.
Speaking on stage after performing two energetic dances with his son, Lagi, Demetri Demetrious from Stavros Flatley said: This is absolutely brilliant, it is because of people like you here that we keep doing this. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, thank you so much Norwich.
Bosses at The Mall had said earlier in the week that they hoped to avoid a repeat of the problems which accompanied the appearance by Diversity at Chapelfield last week.
And at the event tonight they had extra security laid on as well as help from police community support officers to help the event go smoothly.
A stray light stand that toppled over into the crowd at one point, was quickly picked up by Mall support officers and no one was hurt.
Dawn Pope, 41, form Fakenham had come to see the event with her two daughters, Alex 10 and Ashleigh 13, who both had front row seats.
Dawn said: We thought the acts were brilliant, We saw Stavros Flatley on Britain's Got Talent and we thought they were fantastic and they were just as good tonight.
The girls were really excited at seeing Eoghan as well.
Other activities at the event included the chance to meet Father Christmas and his reindeers, a show from a wandering magician, face painting and the Heart Angels from radio station Heart 102.4 giving out goodie bags.
The Holiday Inn Norwich North were also serving mulled wine and mince pies, while shoppers were entertained by local Christmas choirs.
The appearance of the TV stars comes hot on the heels of the appearance by Britain's Got Talent stars Diversity at Chapelfield on November 5.
The size of the crowd which gathered to watch the stars during Chapelfield's Christmas lights switch-on took organisers by surprise.
One police officer estimated the crowd as up 8,000 strong, while organisers had planned for just 2,000.
Extra security staff were drafted in on top of the extra forces already on duty, making 40 security staff in total, as well as police. There were no major incidents, but several minor injuries. "
