This is your chance to compare a live performance with a state-of-the-art DSD digital recording played back through a ultra high-fidelity audio system.
Note that the vocal balance differs between the performance and playback of this live to two-track recording. From the microphone's perspective, Lesley sounds louder since she is closest. Her placement was selected to give a proper recording balance relative to the other instruments. Had this been an actual concert performance, Lesley would have used a vocal mike and gain would have been adjusted for proper balance relative to the ensemble.
Compare Live vs. Recorded - "Sing to Me" video was captured on 1/11/2009 at T.H.E. Show in Las Vegas by Dick Olsher. The demo was hosted by VMPS Audio (Brian Cheney) and features a coincident microphone pair (Sennheiser 800) directly feeding a Sony Sonoma DSD recorder setup courtesy of Kimber Kable. Playback was via VMPS Audio's V60 speakers augmented by four VSS subwoofers. Electronics by James Bongiorno/Ampzilla.
