Fetus are humans, very small humans without a voice. That's why its so easy to kill them. Psychotics have the false idea that the person they kill is not like them. Are we no more than psychotics then? We don't think of a fetus to be human, psychotics don't think of their victim to be human.
Well, it is the case that the concept of property relates to my view, but is not itself my view. Indeed, your interpretation is misleading. I think I'm going to have to take this debate to video, though, because the comments section is too limited of a medium. Also, I sent a message to you the other day, I hope you got it. :)
Something being human does not give it innate rights - indeed, molar pregnancies are human, as are fetus en fetu - however, neither one of those have rights, either. There is good justification for that. They are clear examples why being human doesn't mean that something has innate rights.
Your stance on abortion is that dependency makes it ok to kill the fetus (which means "unborn child"). Have I misrepresented your view with that description? And as far as stating you believe the fetus to be no more than a mother's property, how can you say that is not your view? Do you have authority to destroy something that is not yours? I would submit to you that your very views requires that babies be nothing more than mere property, like a desk or a puppy.
My point fits your description of the "isms." Your sizism, or whichever one you want to pick, causes individuals to harm the baby they are discriminating against based on something outside of its control. And in regards to your other comment, I find it hard to believe that you believe it is a human being and yet are in favor of the option to kill it!?
In your other post you claim that you didn't make false accusations about what I have said - the post that I'm responding to now says: "SilkyShrew likes to believe that because it is "attached," it is property. It's dependency makes it inhuman - how illogical is that?" That statement is a blatant mischaracterization of my views - the fetus is indeed human, but that is irrelevant to my stance on abortion.
For example, sexism is the act of being biased against something on the basis of their sexuality. If I have a bias towards a man in my attractions due to him being male, then I'm still being sexist. The problem arises when these biases cause an individual to do harm. So, no matter if I do or don't have this -ism thing that you point out is not even an issue.
No, the process of getting oxygen from the umbilical cord is not the same as "breathing." Also, it doesn't matter if my view constitutes some random -ism. People have -isms all the time that are valid.
Through the liquid exchanged through the umbilical cord...same thing, friend. And for the record, I have not called you a name or made false accusations. I still want to know how your view of the fetus is not discrimination...Sizism, developmentism, environmentism, or dependencism.

Fetuses don't "breathe" under water - they get oxygen from the umbilical cord.
