A chapter from Gold! The History of Man's Greatest Obsession.

If anyone out there has converted the book (written by William Stanley Moss entitled "Gold is where you hide it: What happened to the Reichsbank treasure" and published by Andre Deutsch, London, 1956) into an e-book, please post it to me.

  • I live in california desert.. was digging in my property and found 620oz of gold and i think theres more where it came from.

so does that mean if i find more gold can i claime it, or do i have to turn it in?

  • @MrManny7426

California desert ain't no desert when you could find so much gold. good for you and keep on digging!

best you quietly go to your local library and read about the law concerning your property.

btw, do you know what California is called in one of my country's languages? Gold Hills, that is, and there is more gold to be found.

  • Recently the americans found a British ship (Indian loot) found off the florida keys worth 400 million. 80% of it will be Americans keeps I read

  • English = pirates = terrorist

English in 16th, 17th and 18th century = osama bin laden in 21st century

  • I think that one part of the treasure should be kept in the museums of the founder's country and the other halfof the treasure to the original contry's museums, in this case Spain. In any case, not for the founders. If this was like this, then the seas will be full of poeple looking for treasures.

I think it's useless to insult actual people (in this case, spanish people). In the XVII century it wasn't supossed to be robbery what this ships were doing, since south america was part of Spain then
