Yup that's the South Simcoe alright, I was there the year after this was filmed.

makes me so sad, that last shot with ned and the little girl with sight troubles, i used to live around those fields,

the train they used in the runaway train scene is locomotive no 136, from Ontario ,Canada, from the South Simcoe Railway , they offer histor train rides to the public, not too far from Toronto , Ontario, i used to live around there, me and my family posed infront of the train when i was a kid,

that is train no 136, ME AND MY FAMILY POSED FOR A PICTURE FOR THAT IN THE EARLY 1990S its so awesome and nostalgic
