On 15 March 2009, World Consumer Rights Day, the Hong Kong Council Consumer Council held a supermarket sweep. This involved giving a number of school children a small amount of money, and then sending them into a supermarket and allowing them to buy any food products they wanted withouth any adult interference. The children were then asked to show what they had bought and why. They were asked how they felt the packaging had influenced their decisions.
