  • Thanks for posting this. For those who didn't see the 1998 documentary, "The Cruise," there is also a poignant moment earlier when Speed is telling a kid on his tour bus that he should go to the Twin Towers (the "brothers"), spin around and get dizzy, and then look up because it will "seem like the buildings are falling on you." :(

  • Speed you have done it once again! Thank you!

correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not Satie, but Marty Beller playing a song called "spinning" in this clip.

  • This was a great piece of The Cruise however you left out the most fascinating part!

  • yeah but why???? why is it dead?? Family guy was dead and came back stronger than ever...Futurama almost did the same thing....was it ratings?? was it cost??

  • Never. My friend was an animator on the show. It's long dead.

  • Great documentary. Where can I get the dvd? anyone here knows?

  • whens Stroker and Hoop gettin renewed? its obviously comin bacc

  • I believe it was Chet Baker's, but it's been a long time since I've seen it. I'll have to dig out my copy and check.

  • odd that the events of that September day made all our head spin and for him to lay down in the middle were so many would fall does make this eerie. i know it was done as a artsy film but damn. it racks my head to think of the all the people who want to do that again and be with the love ones who lost ther lives in thoues towers

  • after going over this scene dozens of times with one of my favorite composer's (Satie, Gymnopedie #1) than comparing it to whatever score was eventually used for this i realize this score is cheesy and silly on it's own but it's speed's child like playfulness that brings me into the satire of the finished compilation, because he's so tragic in so many ways putting some cheesy score, makes me really see how sad it all really is and than 9/11 happened, ya know? anybody
