Get a clue. If a band is signed to a major label, they make very little, if any, money off the record sales. A band only gets any real profit from touring. That's why Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails started releasing albums for free. They were tired of the labels making money off their talent. Download all the music you want. it won't make a difference. By all means though, go to the live shows! That's where the bands make the cash.

  • @Apocol0id lol

  • @ODSTD464 I agree.

  • Does anyone have the lyrics to this song?

  • They truly know how to start an album:

    Second Stage Turbine Blade

    A Ring in Return

    Keeping the Blade

    The Reaping

    One

    All so epic.

  • Audio cuts out after two minutes.

This is why many bands choose to remain independent. Even heavy hitters like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails. My band doesn't give a rip if our music is distributed for free, because even when we do charge for it, the income of money is simply not amazing. We only get significant money if we play a show. So, yes, I KNOW how this works.

  • spoken true i thought i was the one that understood that

  • @gofkyoslf

    You make a compelling argument.

  • @TheTurclesOfficial Actually... Bands make about 10% from their CD sales if they are signed and about 50% from their sales on concerts. This is because a lot of people have to get paid in the process to do both of the things. Also, if a band is signed...They're going to have to make an Expected Amount of CD sales to stay on contract... Otherwise they are dropped... So you're just telling everyone to get their bands fired. lol
