GCR on Sunday 14th March 2010 with BR Standard 4 No.80072.

The activities mainly around Rothley Station on Mothers Day 2010. The main reason for my visit was to see the newly arrived BR Standard 4 Tank No.80072 from the Llangollen Railway which took pride of place on the crimson and cream 'Mothers Day luncheon' set. Also in action was ex.LMS Black 5 No.44767 'George Stevenson' on Drive A Locomotive Experience (DALEX) duties and later on a passenger turn and Class 20 No.D8098.
After Rothley we briefly stop at Woodthorpe bridge to see the last train of the weekend hauled by 80072 (you may see a lot os this engine in the next few weeks as second to 9Fs they are my favourite engine!)

Well, I shell be there Sunday afternoon! I've not had a proper lok at Tornado yet- it arrived at the sheds yeasterday afternoon whilst I was there so I'm hoping to get some shots of it when there arn't masses of people round like at the 1960's Gala!

its tornado theres bound to be loads there! :P wouldn't suprise me if this weekend isn't standing room only aswell! i would be off to the 1960s gala but theres the help for heros train on the saturday with 70013 on that and no one to take me sunday, looks a good event though
