being british myself i understand her view as we have a less openly optimistic view of ourselves in comparison to what the media often portrays of the americans, they have a certain exuberance and openness to their feelings which i feel we sometimes dont show. But to be honest i think that is a warming part to their nature which I, and other brits feel about them. Yes it was extravagant, and yes it was 'hollywood' in some ways, but why not, it was an historic and momentous occasion
