Original short story.

I am an atheist. This is not an argument, it is an history about why religion spreads because it is simpler to explain, though not simpler in the scientific sense.

"Come Paul," said the priest who had heard the conversation. "Did you ever hear about God?"

And the priest walked Paul away, explaining him how God had made it all and telling him stories from a book.

"But Paul," shouted Jack. "Science explains it much more simply than the God-hypothesis!"

  • You don't even make Paul read the "book" for himself? Just have the priest "tell him stories" from it? If Paul grows up to be a pilot, he's going to have to know more than the bible can tell him. Right?

  • uh.. yes?

  • Good Guess.

  • I don't know if you've figured that it was not an argument for theism...

    Nicely done :)

    Hypothesis indeed ;)

  • OK, I watched again (and read the text again). That's some subtle irony, but if you say so... ;) A sunset is beautiful, just because... It is more awesome if you've learned how and why.. I do agree that the easier explanation wins out too often. I'll retract my sarcastic comment :)

  • easy 4 man to create god in own image rather than sustain law in natural world. . earth

  • It's ok, I think you weren't the only one to be confused. It's the first time a witness Poe's law affect a non-mocking representation of atheism-theism.

On the other hand, it might be due to my lack of skill.

  • Well, don't I feel like a goon. : )

Man, it's getting more and more difficult to tell the creationists from the sardonic and witty atheists out there. My apologies sir!
