Part 1 of 7 Anglo Concertina alternative learning method free lessons by "Mark the Pole" - Marek Piotr Skoczylas. I can play any tune on Concertina instantly that is in my head already (hundreds of them) and having fun. I achieved this in less than one year from having first time concertina in my hands. Never played anything similar. Never had any musical training. In this video I am sharing the secrets of my journey. I navigated the musical waters and chartered for you the passages, shortcuts, simplifications therefore your journey may be much more pleasant and successful.
I am starting from favorite Slavic tune in Polish "Lniany recznik" (linen towel) or "Matczyny dar" (mother's gift) or in Russian "Matyerny platok" (mother's scarf). Then explaining why concertina.
I am also posting more than 100 maritime / shanty tunes with button ranges played at:

  • Początkowo myślałem, że jestem jedynym Polakiem, który gra na anglo. Potem zobaczyłem, że Marek Szurawski też. A teraz widzę, że jest nas trzech :) Pozdrawiam.

  • This is awesome and I completely understand your explanations. Thank you very much for this. I can now play my concertina and have fun.

  • really excited to get some free time to dig into these videos

  • Being musically inept...I bought a concertina about 6 months ago. After many failed attempts at trying to learn to "play" I came upon "Mark". Your insructions are simple and very easy to follow. After a few minutes, and some fumbling, I got "music" from this small box! Now I'll spend more time and many hours just sitting, enjoying and amazing myself. I want to thank you for your "gift" of being willing to give "free instruction". I'll honor your "request...and pass on an act of kindness.

  • I appreciate your intelligence and your deep analysis of your own, independent musical journey that empowers others to do the same. My background on the piano accordion (very little musical training) were not useful for my 20 button concertina. It's like starting all over. I like your approach, and look forward to following your lessons.

  • Thank you so much, sir. I got a 20 button concertina as a gift. Now I can learn to play!

  • You are my hero!!!

That's exactly what I was praying for. Bought my concertina a month ago. Difficult to find a teacher in India. It was already a miracle that I found a concertina here. I'm still sorting out the buttons, but now there is hope :-)))).

Thank you so much for your videos!
