This song, despite it's manic energy, and it's frenetic picking, is really, really sad. I end up feeling carried along by the music in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions - which I guess is the point. Yearning after the girl, dealing with the firestorm fallout from being in close contact with her, knowing she's getting herself in trouble without being able to do anything about it, and constantly fighting the impulses that pull you deeper into the cesspool that you and she are making together...
