  • yeah but can a 1.7 Liter Civic pull over 10,000lbs behind it?? Don't forget that, that Duramax Chevy weights over 9000lbs. Those cute little Civic's are around 2500lbs. So the fact that a little Civic can run with a 9000lb truck is nothing impressive. If anything, it's sad because that car weighs less and should be able to perform better.

  • Isuzu and GM are not the same company, they are bonded. They just make vehicles with inerchangable parts, and they make parts for both. GM just has a bond with Isuzu like Ford has a bond with Mazda.

  • @blackprincegsxr1000 I beg to differ. 2500 lbs accelerates better, 9000 lbs is better for pulling stuff.

    2 different aspects.

  • my 1997 cummins 2500 says on the door jam that its 9900 pounds i put it on a scale and its 7 alomst 8000 pounds dont go buy what the door jam says

  • @gman4dx266 yeah well if my car made all of its torque and power buy 3k then I would.

  • @TomE1123

Chevy can list curb weights all day long. I'm talking about actual weight(i.e. what it really weighs). I can't speak for what Chevy's actually weigh, but my Dodge 2500 weighed 8000lbs on more than one occasion on the scales. Go out and actually weigh the truck, don't go off what Chevy says. If you weigh it, you'll know what it weighs for sure.

  • @blackprincegsxr1000

chevy lists the curb weights on their website.

a crew cab long bed dually weighs barely over 7000.

  • @blackprincegsxr1000 The sticker on your door jam that says GVWR:9900 lbs (or whatever it says) means that that is the maximum that your two axles can weigh combined. So if the sticker on your 1/2 ton says, for instance, 6500, and your truck weighs 6200 empty, than that gives you a pathetic 300 lbs legal payload... nowhere near 0.5 tons! Newer duallies often have a GVWR of more than 10K so yes, they can weigh close to 9K. Duallies are still only 1-tons. 450s and 550s have a GVWR of 15K to 20K...

  • @timmypstyle sounds like the perfect truck right there....the only good thing dodge has is the cummins engine

  • @1pinchipendejo Oh really??? That's funny, my 07 Dodge 2500 fully fueled weighs in at 8000lbs(I should know, I've had it on the scales more than once). My Dad's Chevy Silverado 1500 weighs 6200lbs(and that's a half-ton). Now we know this Duramax is a 3500 but not if it's a SRW or DRW. If it's a Dually believe me they can weight in excess of 9000lbs easy. So if you tow them, then you must not know very much about the vehicles you claim to tow....

  • @marklouisjordan yup they are the best trannys. so whats gonna happen, hate to say it but, when dodge is done? what if chevy and ford started getting cummins? a cummins with an allison would be the best truck ever made.

  • isnt that a lly? cuz lbz is from 06+ and their redline starts at 4500 rpm
