I just don't understand the appeal behind this game. The music's great, but playing a shmup with such a punishing rank system that forces you to do absurd things like ignore powerups and max medals, suiciding to lower rank on purpose all just to get a 1cc... ugh. Just can't see the appeal of such bizarre mechanics, especially not those in a game where the enemy bullets are much harder to see than normal in a shmup.

@ClessxAlghazanth Because of the weird rank system, the rank will go up when you fire/bomb/get item,and even just do nothing. If you don't do rank control, the game could become hard as hell before you know it. The only way to rank down is suicide.

Technically if you can beat the game with max rank, surely you can do it that way.

But trust me, it is impossible.

I watched some but still dont have a clue why they dont shoot sometimes or do suicides ...

more medals = more points so it should mean you should try to not miss any medal , right ?

Shooting increases rank.

Extends increase rank by a lot.

Suicide reduces rank.

So you

Suicide to get bombs -> Get score -> Get extends -> Suicide some more to get bombs and reduce rank.

And regarding scoring system. You chain medals which increase value ( 100 -> 10000 ) and if you let one medal pass, the value of all medals reset to 100.

You can use bombs to gain score. For example, in stage 2 there is bunch of flamingoes that can be uncovered. This gives pretty damn huge score if done right.
