@XxzoezebraxX Well why would the brain creata coping mechanism if it knew it was going to die...? You're physicaly body has no capability to COPE with its own death. Its dead, so it had no ability to cope with anything. right?

Maybe NDE's do make sense in the materialist, no-afterlife, no invisible pink unicorns view? I mean, maybe its all just a sequence reaction in the brain that can be proven with evidence? I'm atheist, and I'm also deeply interested in psychology, so I think that could be a possibility. However, I have also HAD a near death experience and I know what you mean. Great video! I like the open-mindedness. Sub'd.

I just sub-ed you. Youre one of the rare few that are actually open minded and wiling to entertain new thoughts and ideas. Keep up the good work bro.

from what i've read.... NDEs have a number of simialirites and a number of differences. where they differe seems to be heavily infleunced by the religion of the person that is dying. I believe in life after death, but I don't beleive in validates any partcular god. I believe NDES reveal that all love based paths lead to the same thing.

Chris Carter has something of a study concerning NDE's and their scientific significance that might interest you.
"Science and the Near-Death Experience: How Consciousness Survives Death" is what it's called. Give it a read; it's eye opening and compelling to say the least.

you said you were atheist or agnostic in your brain in a vat scenario video

When asked when I believe in life after death I can only reply "I'm all for it!" however nde's my regular dmt use and the remarkable similarities between dmt experiences I have had and the those reported in "The Spirit Molecule" (Which I read after I began using dmt regularly so it could not have influenced said experiences) in no way alter my materialistic world view.

@efilorpnagev Agnosticism is an epistemological idea, You are either are an agnostic atheist or agnostic theist. or a gnostic theist /gnostic atheist. Not one ore the other
You seem to hold atheism as a sacred doctrine. I agree that NDE and atheism are in no way exclusive of one another. However, you seemed to be ready to dismiss the NDE if it conflicted with atheism as if atheism was an absolute truth. Duh! If the facts contradicted atheism would you deny the facts. You need a lesson in basic logic.

I would respond to your rather flimsy arguments except for the fact that I don't deal with 2-year old's who have to resort to name-calling in order to draw attention to themselves. Baby go bye-bye, mmkay?

You may have already read this book based on what you've said in your video, but I recommend you read The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot.
The book is not without it's flaws, but overall it's a masterpiece.
I also keep an open mind, hence I'm an agnostic as opposed to an atheist or theist.

Yea I see that book in the physics section every time I go to Borders Books, and I've always wanted to pick it up but I was afraid that it might be too "pseudo-science-ish." Now that you've recommended it, I'll be sure to buy it next time I see it, probably soon, thanks! :)
