  • It was exhausting (for You) and ...

  • Oh sorry but I can't understand what you mean...

If you feel bad by the video, that's too bad.

  • I am quite impressed by your rendition of 'Nancy Whiskey' - never heard it sung by a non-Irishman before so...Excellent!

  • Hello. Thanks for the comment!

"Nancy Whisky" is really a good song I think.

I sang it for some friends and soon they like it.

The melody is simple but quite nice, and the lyricis are very fun.

I love it. I keep singing it. Thank you.

  • Oh, I see you're from Japan, I hope you know what I meant by bang up job...you did this song very well, nice job!

  • Hi, thanks for your explanation about "bang up".

I searched it by a dictionary just now.

I understand what you mean and feel happy!

  • ...and if you had half a brain, you'd realise that I wasn't saying that Nancy Whiskey is an Irish song. As for the ad hominem, it's treated with the contempt it deserves.

  • @K3KCT "Nancy Whiskey" was popularised by the late Ewan MacColl, and most Irish groups since that time have sung a version of it, although MacColl's version is the definitive one. And yes, I know Calton is a part of Glasgow. Like I said, I've never heard (with the exception of MacColl) the song sang by anyone who isn't Irish, and I've not yet listened to any Scots sing it. That isn't to say that it's an Irish song, which would be as daft as saying that "Dirty Old Town" is.

  • Horrible singing and playing. Horrible costume. This is a joke right?

  • @highkingofireland200 ...What-the-hell are you talking about, son? What has Ireland to do with this Scottish song?

If you had half of a brain you would know that 'Calton' is in Glasgow, but then.. Oh, just go back to beating yer wife, paddy

  • lol :)

  • CurtaPajama... I think you did a decent job of this song, theres no taking away from the fact that you are clearly not a scotsman haha but thats what makes it so good that you have made the effort to listen to them perform songs in a scots like dialect, great effort , one point I would make though and its an essential part of the song, its actually called The Calton Weaver after an area in Glasgow called The Calton where there were cotton mills during the 19th and easrly 20th century

  • No the original Nancy Whiskey/ Cartlton Weaver(the most well known version and the one this dude is singing) is an 19th centurty Scottish folk song. There is another variant of it with different verses that was written by an englishman that sings about London but its not the orignal.

  • not sure about it.. is he able to speak english? or english with irish mouth?

  • Go "folk" yerself, mate. Curta Pajama ROCKS!

Let's hear you do a 100 year old Japanese folk song, ye bleddy "Folkhead".

  • Actually he's pretty damn good!
