There are many oddities in early America, (I don't mean just Mormonism). I'm making other videos with same book. This book asks "Was Adam in America"? Was Noah? Was the Garden of Edan? Sound familiar?...Page 73 refers to the "Mormonite imposture". Champollion is mentioned for some 40 pages. The alleged discoveries here are not all verifiable. You see here that Prof CS Rafinesque disagrees strongly with Ethan Smith, "View of the Hebrews" argument and those of the Mormonite. Yet in Priest's book are hundreds of pages concerning discoveries of Iron, writing, engraved letters in brass, a "Ancient Chest with yellow paper and undecipherable writing",etc. Prof ' CS Rafinesque is also quoted in connection with Champollion on American Alphabets,; Soon (hopefully) a separate video on Egyptian Hieroglyphics/ Champollion and the Abraham Papyrus will be posted. I contend Champollion was Popularly Known, not "Barely known", as many videos on the Abraham Papyrus allege, and thus Joseph Smith had access to such knowledge. Josiah Priest's book was very popular and widely read, I show 4 editions in just 3 years, I own 2nd,3rd and 4th ed.
Very interesting. You gotta ask yourself why the Native Americans didnt discover these "ancient relics" BEFORE the European settlers came over...

@ImperialPimp I think most Indians said "we didn't do this". But it wasn't lamenites or nephites. I have a copy of this on ebay for bid now.. I have 4 copies. they sell from $30-100. It speaks of the "recent imposture of Mormonites". There are no metal workings in America. There were after White guys arrived. And until about 1970 when certain political forces stopped Americans from manufacturing any thing but bird cages and air conditioning units. With special permission, of course.
