  • WOW -- this movie theme really gives me goose-bumps. When I think of the lousy music in movies today, it's depressing.

  • So nostalgic and awesome ! Really appreciate your uploading it.

  • Nobody could fly a plane like The Duke...

  • DANG THIS REALLY REMINDS ME OF MY GRANDFATHER.....HE WAS ALWAYS WHISTLING THIS TUNE!!! HE'S STILL ALIVE I THINK I'M GONNA GIVE HIM A CALL......

  • @jimmiejoe007 I'll tell ya where...they are all free agents in the six foot under league...they are probably doing backflips seeing what the movie industry has turned into...

  • A great pre-Kardashian era...

  • Hard Boiled Men..."Dames", not "Women"...Propeller driven planes...BIG-sound music...Life & death struggles..Oh, 1954, where have you gone ? No autotuned rapcrap then...

  • Probably the most famous version of one of Dimitri Tiomkin's most enduring and beautiful melodies (of which he wrote many). A fine musician (and composer in his own right), Baxter's arrangements were always tasteful.

  • One of the Duke's best movies ever. Where have all the great actors gone? We miss you Duke.

  • so wonderful in it's concept...so many of us grew up with this song in our subconscious....the AM radio band was magical back then and the musical styles were endless...why did it end? The album "Baxter's Best" should still be the number on LP around.....what a beautiful tune and the movie rocked pretty good too....Les found a sound that had a life of it's own, an ability to cause so much recall in us older kids....

  • I was 7 years old also when I first heard this. Goosebumps is right! Here I am 64 years old and still remember this song. You're right about themes. Talk about standing the test of time. Did I say the story was very impressionable to me even at that young age? It's great being a baby-boomer and still here.
