How To Enable Windows Media Player 12 Taskbar Toolbar In Windows 7 by britec.co.uk

It's a well known fact that the Windows Media Player 12 (WMP 12) present in Windows 7 doesn't come with the taskbar toolbar. Windows Media Player Taskbar Toolbar, if you don't know, is a small toolbar that appears in the taskbar when you minimize Windows Media Player.

As many of the Vista and XP users are missing this handy toolbar in Windows 7, here is a master guide to help you get taskbar toolbar in Windows 7 with all features.

  • the link is dead !

  • I have a problem:

When i paste: regsvr32 “%ProgramFiles%\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll” in cmd and press enter a pop up box appears and says: The module ""C:/Program" failed to load.

Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.

The specified module could not be found.

What could be the problem mate?

  • Thank you, but can you show me how to remove it??

  • Such file does not exist or it has been removed for infringement of copyrights. F*CK

  • the link no longer works for the 64 and 86 bit files HELP!

  • Really helpful

  • @MrJamz74 instead using the one provided, try this one:

    regsvr32 "c:\program files\windows media player\wmpband.dll"

As you may notice, there is no Caps letters in it and the signs for "" are different than the ones presented in the tutorial above.

  • Awesome! But i cant seem to play videos in the taskbar

  • Thanks A TON! :D

  • Did the above, now have the mini player back, however when I open a file I get sound but no video, just a black box??

  • thank you its working

  • This is not a good method it only works on half the mahicnes I've done it on, theres a windows media player 12 install out there that has the feature but i cant find it again anymore.. The method shown above for example did not work on my home PC, I select the Windows Media Player Toolbar and when I minimize WMP12 it does nothing at all.
