This technique seems really great. However, would this work on an aggressive dog running towards you? (i.e. Would throwing treats at an aggressive dog make it react adversely?)
Just wondering because if somebody threw food at me, even if it were candy, I'd still be pretty miffed at them. Hundred dollars bills, on the other hand, would make me really happy.

Very difficult to do this in real life setting. It so rarely happens that a dog darts out that you almost go into panic mode when it does. Last time it happened I was out with a Golden and a Lab with a prong darted from the side. The dog wasn't in my line of sight. It was too late to try this by the time I could react. This is a great tool to have, though. I learned this from watching both Patricia McConnell and Trish King.
