Track 11: The Light & The Glass

Slowly the pen touches paper in the guidance of the words that you write
Memories roll in of the things you once did
And who you had shared them with is somebody thinking of you
Did I bother telling you this with the words that cross teeth and jump lips
A poor choice of words in wanting to tell you anything
But words don't come with ease they're forever my hurt
Would it really matter if you were to count the days left with your hands
Your focus secure and the loves you left well
Smiles staged in photographs here until...

You left the light on
There's a chance I might have tripped girl
You were there to hold on

Ignoring the words of your obnoxious little brother
Kill or be killed spilled the words from your mother
I'll lay awake for a while
I'll leave the light on a while

You couldn't last a lifetime caught between here and the days of it
Carving her name across your arm with every wish its hit or miss her
I told you so I measured distance in lines departing the rest of my life
But you had better things to do... liar

If you'd get put to sleep, like an old dog you're better off, should you get put to sleep
I've been cautious with the words I extend
Allow this year before the world starts to end

Your fathers dead passed in his sleep, and I woke to the sounds of her crying

Pray for us all...

My dearest Apollo, I'll be burning Star 4

  • Where does it say "My dearest Apollo, I'll be burning Star 4"

  • @zrecer in the lyric booklet that comes with the album

  • @xxTheHellTriggerxx I wasn't suggesting it doesn't say that, I've just never heard it before.

  • @zrecer it doesnt say it in the song, just the lyric book, coheed often does that

  • @ kazoorocketman54 i believe the xylophone??

  • this song is awesome.... nd the ring in return version of this song is divine

  • @HandheldTundra actually i prefer "The Broken"

  • @Outofthisworld666 He is saying there was a chance he might have tripped (if the light was off) BUT she left the light on...so he didn't trip.

  • Don't you normally trip when the light is off not on?

As much as i love C&C i am still a little confused on that part

    .

  • @demmer44 It's part of the original song. Coheed has a tendency to tack on little music box-like tunes to the end of their songs. I think it's amazing, personally.

  • The part starting at 5:44 is just blowing my mind. I'm out of words!

  • "Youuuuu...you left the light onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. There's a chance I might have triiiiipped, girrrrllll. Youuu were there to holllld onnnn" Favorite line in the song. :)

  • i havent found this cd :'c

  • Is the music box at the end original to the song or is it another song on it's own?
