BMW's "purist" Mini Roadster Concept will be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show alongside a Mini Coupe Concept, as part of the brand's 50th-anniversary celebration.

The two-seater has a soft top and a family resemblance in front, with a distinctive notchback rear-end design to help distinguish it from the current Mini convertible. Its chrome grille is the same as the one on the Mini Cooper S, but includes body-color bars on the inner section.

  • it is so cuuuuttteeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cabrio....mmmmmmmmm!!! i want you))))))

  • They need to make it AWD 300hp then I'll get one. :) Not bad looking tho

  • @charles43110 i never said the normal mini wasn't good looking... but the mini coupe looks like a squished baseball cap.

  • @coolerdude44 My Mini gets constant attention from strangers. The only car in my life that equaled it for public curiosity and positive comments.was my bright red 1969 Volvo P1800S with 5 speed, disc brakes, Michelin radials and twin SU down drafts. Both of these cars got honks, waves, thumbs up and smiles.

Your in the minority opinion about its looks.

  • its mini's 50th bday

  • well hopefully in three years if and when they make this car for production they make it rwd and hard top for the convertible... oh and make the body a little more aggressive...

  • porsche does the same thing with the carrera, i kind of agree with you but when i look at older styles they don't look as fresh/new, so i believe they are doing pretty good, hopefully it means they've reached a design that is as good as it gets.

  • these cars are so ugly...

i think the mini idea has been milked dry. eventually these cars are going to look dated, and then what? you can't redesign them because the whole brand is based on one car made by british leyland.

    give it a rest.
