@nuclearjanitors I totally agree. I still adore VS. Shipping News, unlike Fugazi, who in some ways "toned down" the punk as they went from Steady, to In on the Kill taker, to Red Medicine (I highly recommend this album), to End Hits, and finally, the Argument, Shipping News seems to have taken the opposite route. However, I take this as a pleasant surprise; for as a punk/post hard-core, and post-rock junky, Shipping news' ability to pull off both is astonishing.
I don't know what to think of this. It's an awesome song but very "not Shipping News" as they have come to be defined to me. I feel like Mission of Burma did the EXACT SAME THING...Their earlier stuff was darker and more haunting but as they aged they got more uptight and in your face. This is different than my other favorite band (aside from MoB) Fugazi, who get more refined and perfected as they progress while retaining their energy. Not unlike Big Black. Wow. Does that make any sense?
@kamusutra At first I thought another browser tab had started playing Shellac.

@AxonsandDendrites They've had a few songs that have been flirting with this sort of material since the beginning. Get well soon, Jason.
