XTM Rage (Brushed) spinning around at the local park. Stock nimh battery has been replaced with a Rhino 1750 mAh 2S 20C lipo battery. There's an increase in power and acceleration that's instantly noticeable with the new lipo pack. Lipo fits snug inside the battery compartment when it's turned upside down, but doesn't obstruct the retaining clips.

Caveat Emptor: Durability is NOT in this truck's vocabulary. I've had to replace the steering servo gears, spur gear, and knuckles. The $10 aluminum knuckles seem to work fine as opposed to the $25 machined version. It all depends on how much more money you want to put into it.

  • how much did that lipo cost you

  • @3pivotmaster

Paid $8.19 + shipping from HobbyKing. Added the link in the description.

  • @rcplaytime1 does the connecter fit the stock rage brushless

  • @3pivotmaster

Great question. Unfortunately the connector had to be soldered on. I'm using a Dean's type connector and I'm using a Turnigy Accucel to charge the lipo. The above applies to the brushed XTM Rage, not the stock brushless. I'm not sure what connections the brushless version come with. I added a link to the charger I'm using in the description.

  • whats the difference between the stock battery and the one that youvein there on this video?

does it make the truggy to go faster and run for longer?

    plz answer.

    thanks!!!

  • @akakobra

There's definitely more power using the lipo pack instead of the stock nimh batteries. I don't have any actual speed data to compare the two, but from what I've experienced, the lipo pack is the way to go if you want to go faster. As far as run times go, the lipo seems to lengthen the run time a bit more over the nimh pack.

  • Can you link to the aluminum knuckles? I was interested in buying a used one of these but people say the knuckles are usually the first to go. I can't imagine you've had issues with the aluminums?

  • But will it blend?

  • @rcplaytime1 i have the brushless i think its the same as the brushed

  • not available on mobile??

  • that looks cool...

holding the run time for longer and give a bit extra more power...

    see...

i want to get a lipo pack for my rage but at my hobby supplier they said that lipos are not maded with the intent of being used on brushed motors...

they said that i could buy a lipo that fits in the rage but if it suddenly starts to slow down too much they said for me to stop it asap cause it might damage the battery...

and what kind of lipos fit in the rage and can be used with the stock motor?:D
