  • is this the same launching pad where space shuttles lift off?

  • Yeah, they used to use this launch pad for the Shuttle, but they haven't launched a shuttle from this one for a while. It's been closed down so they could upgrade it to launch these new rockets.

  • Update-

BO is now my most hated president after what he has now done to this project.

An act of pure political retribution.

  • Whew! So glad it went off without a hitch. If it hadn't,

    Obama would've killed the program.

    Go NASA!!!

  • Instead we are in the "Age of Soyuz."

  • I'd pay money to see regular launches of this vehicle!

  • There's a certain point in a Shuttle launch where the engines have to be throttled back to go through the region of maximum pressure. Is it possible to throttle back a solid rocket booster like Ares has?

  • To space...and sticking around in low orbit.

    Thanks Obama.

  • I want to cry.

  • you give your departement of defense 480billion dollars every year. I think that is already enough... But anyway, hope this will take us to mars.
