  • Here is a really strange thought for you: I feel as though the longing in this song cannot easily be portrayed in a woman's voice. It is somewhere in the straining to reach a higher note that makes the song beautiful to me...

    It is a good cover anyhow, I just missed the feeling I got from Elliott's voice, and I am trying to figure out why.

  • i get that. i think the beauty of a cover is that it takes us away from our expectation, and that is an uncomfortable space to be in sometimes. no matter male or female, the longing Elliott had in anything will never be brought back to life. i cover this song for what it means to me, and for my fans that want my take on it.
