I was looking for love in the wrong arms... [23] - Nemi

A few weeks passed by after Demi left tour. Press was going crazy about it, but the mood on tour had lightened up a little. Without Demi, all the drama had calmed down and they all could work in peace. The mood between Joe and Nick though, had become somewhat awkward, as if Nick could beat Joe at any minute, especially when Ashley was around. Everyone could see the look of disapproval in his eyes, telling his brother how inappropriate it was bringing her there and rubbing her on Demi's face and even thought he didn't mention it, everyone could see that Nick blamed Joe for what happened.

Anyways, they performed the last few shows without Demi and ended tour as promised to their fans. Nick tried visiting Demi countless times but time in between concerts was tight and he had to keep the image to the press that things were going smooth at least between the brothers. Plus, Demi's mom called him saying that the doctors at the clinic said that on this first few weeks her treatment would be more intense and she could be very sensitive, so no visitors at all.

Thank God for Nick tour was soon over and he planned on going back to their house on Texas so he could get away from Joe and relax a little but, of course, not without visiting Demi before. He called the clinic and talked to the doctor to know if Demi could already receive visitors and what would be the best time to do so. The doctor said that Demi's emotional state was quite stable and that he could rearrange her appointments all for the morning so she could have lunch and then spend all afternoon with him, as long as Nick was careful not to disturb her peace, although the doctor considered his visit would be good for her since she had talked a lot about him, always in good ways.

Nick packed his things on that night and as soon as the other day came through the window of his hotel room he went to the airport and took the first flight to the closest airport to Demi's clinic. He got there a little before lunch time and decided to just stop by in the city and eat something nice since he wouldn't be able to eat with Demi on the clinic.

After lunch on the cafeteria, Demi was sent back to her room and Jane, the nurse that took care of her said that she would have the afternoon free. Demi wasn't that happy about that cause there wasn't much to do in the clinic so she just laid down on her bed and started reading a book her mom had brought to her. Half an hour later she heard a knock on her door that pulled her mind back out of the book. She looked up at the door thinking it was Jane bringing her anti depressives and said "Come in, Jane."

But she had a great surprise.

"Hmmm... I'm not Jane, but I guess I can still come in." Nick said peeking his head inside the door smiling.

Demi squealed in happiness and jumped out of bed running to him and throwing herself at his arms. "NICK!!! It's so good to see you!!!" She said smiling brightly at him and then tugging her head under his chin while he managed to hug back while holding the roses he had bought and the teddy bear.

"I missed you too, Dems." He said chuckling as she pulled away.

"You could have told me you were coming... Meanie." She said smiling.

"It wouldn't have been a surprise then. Look what I brought you." He said first handing her the bouquet of white and orange roses, only held together by some straw that was tied around the flowers. "Your mom told be they are your favorites." He explained smiling while she took the roses in her hands to smell them and smile back at him.

"They're beautiful Nick. Thanks. I'll ask for a vase to put them on my bedside table." She replied with a gentle smile.

"But that's not all." He said smiling with his left arm behind his back.

"What are you hiding there, Mr. Romantic?"

"Something for you to remember me when I'm not around..."

"A pair of your boxers?" She asked giggling and he laughed.

"Nope. Better."

"Aww... There's nothing better than pair of boxers to sleep in..." She said with a cute fake pout on.

"You're not going to wear it to sleep, but it'll sleep with you."

"Come on, show me!" She said trying to grab his arm.

"Okay, okay... Girls these days... Always in a hurry..." He said chuckling and handing her the teddy bear, with his name on it.

"Aww Nick... It's so cute." She said touching the teddy bear then looking at him with that sweet smile of hers. "I loved it." She then walked over to him and hugged him before placing a little kiss on his cheek.

"I'm glad you liked it." He whispered on her ear, not wanting to and not letting go of her.

"It's lonely here sometimes. Now I have company."She looked at him smiling then softly letting go of his grip and going to sit on her bed.
