OMG. I think I'm going to cry. You have said what I've been feeling for years. Most epic win ever.

@thoomolong but the problem is, blacks are always misrepresented. those few things that do include people of color could still be racist by not representing us as humane as white characters with depth and personality.

@majulahagapao your right theres still racism , white women get raped and white kids stabbed to death everyday all over Europe ,but its never a big deal. MLK said if your not careful the media will have u hating the people being opressed and loving the people who are opressing.

@88bluebirds No, it's not. This is coming from a white person, I see racism a lot.

Elon, you're shiny.

The black-shaded folk can at times recognise the division of race as real, and in a way they believe in a form of racism, that they are a race and white-shaded folk are a race and black-shaded folk, plus they believe in real discrimination and may sometimes generalise white-stereotypes on to all white-shaded folk.

@theBlaine26 The "ghettos" were GIVEN to us after we were DENIED access to low interest rates on mortgages that white folks (particularly GI's) were given after WWII through the GI Bill. We were forced into renting and cornered into the "gift" ghettos you speak of, with no home equity. Not all white folks have it easy, but you all need to recognize that that as a whole, you have it better than people of color. I don't have enough characters left to school you, but RESEARCH some of this stuff

@mmhmmrachel91 The Germans now don't benefit from any privilege the Holocaust may have provided; it didn't provide them with ANY privilege. White people in the US continue to reap the benefits of the system their forefathers established which was built to oppress Africans and other persons of color. THAT'S why we can't just "get over it." They're STILL in charge while passing laws & making policies that make it HARDER for people of color to achieve the same success.

For anyone who thinks we live in a post-racial America we don't. Racism is not over with Obama. Just look at how blacks are portrayed in the media, Haitians who survived the earthquake are called looters for trying find food, medicines and other necessities for children and families. Why are victims of natural diasters who are black or other people of color always viewed as a threat, looters or prone to violence when whites and Europeans in same shoes are not?

i dont think racism is over, i think theres a lot less now

@RazBery88 amen. I'm a descendant of Holocaust survivors yet I don't go around with anger towards Germans because the Germans of that time are not the Germans of my time.
You made some serious points, but I will say that you are wrong on one point and one point only: white people choosing "white" things over "blackness" (watching TV shows with white characters, white girls wanting white dolls) is NOT racist. It's just gravitating towards what looks like you. When black woman gravitate towards movies that represent them or make black dolls for black girls, they are not called racist (and they shouldn't be.)

@thoomolong It's not racist as much as it shows a clear racist bias. A lot of black women and young girls still gravitate to white dolls. They've have studies that showed that young "black" children chose white dolls/pictures over black because black is "Bad" or "dirty." This was as recent as late last year.
