I used to listen to him play in the Screamin' Coyotes Blues Band at 1369 Club in Cambridge back in the 80s and he was the best street musician Harvard Square has ever seen. After he moved to New Orleans I saw him play at Checkpoint Charlies and with Coco Robicheaux. What a shame he is gone. He played that dobro steel guitar like no one else!
Only saw Kenny Holladay play on 4 occasions over a 3 day period, just over 20 years ago, and ot since BUT his playing and singin was a great influence on me. Such a shame he has passed away. I hope someone in his family gets to hear that some young lad from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK saw him 20 yrs ago and still remembers it well. My own tribute to him, I posted a few years ago on YouTubeis on my channel. It's the song I learnt from him - "Come On In This House"
