this helped a bit but im still kinda stuck on waht to get, i need to get better video than my kodak C630 is right now. i also would like good still picture quality, mostly of very close objects. been looking at the kodak ZI6, ZI8, and olympus FE 30. someone help!

What you want to get is the Nikon D40 DSLR. When you couple this with the 85mm f1.4g you get fantastic portraits. Beware the 85mm costs about 2.5X the cost of the D40.
