My little masked shrew Galloway is active both at night and during the day. He is a bit more relaxed in the dark so shows more of his shrewy behaviours. He is quite trusting and is more curious of the camera than afraid. He also responds to my voice and I get a lively shrewy greeting as he comes running, peering up at me with his little elephant trunk of a nose going all over the place.
Note: Shrews are very difficuilt to keep healthy in captivity. They need to have a constant supply of a variety of insects which is hard for the average person to provide. They also need a very large cage with lots of new things to investigate everyday to stay happy. I do not recommend keeping a pygmy shrew as a pet.
